Nollywood Actress, Yewande Adekoya Arrested In USA For Fraud Related Offences

She is reportedly arrested for crimes related to credit card scam and bank transfer fraud. – In July, another Yoruba actress Lola Margaret was arrested also in US for bank related fraud Famous actress, Yewande Adekoya, has reportedly been placed under house arrest in the US.

The Yoruba actress was said to have been arrested for crimes related to credit card scam and bank transfer fraud.

According to Kemi Ashefon, the award winning actress, who played the role of a kleptomaniac in a movie titled Kudi Klepto was said to have unknowingly fallen victim to some fraudulent Nigerians in Atlanta Georgia who made use of her bank accounts for deceitful fund transfer.

She is said to have been placed under home arrest and was also told to submit her travelling passport and documents since investigations are still ongoing on the matter.

A source had told Kemiashefonlovehaven in Atlanta, US that: “Yewande’s account was used to make some fraudulent transfers in the United States and she was arrested for questioning.

This is no new practice among some Nigerian actors and their foreign fraudulent promoters who use them for such crimes and they get huge cuts from such deals.”

The actress had travelled to the US in October for the Oodua Image Awards which was held in Houston, Texas, and since then she is yet to return back to Nigeria. Initially after the award, Yewande was said to have stayed back in order to shoot a movie but unfortunately she was kept back longer because of the criminal act committed.
